Savanna Bezick is an American Flutist with a passion for exploring her career as a teacher and performer. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a concentration in flute at the University of North Texas (Denton, TX). During her time at UNT, she studied with Professor Terri Sundberg. She hopes to teach in Texas and continue her educational journey by pursuing a master’s degree.

Music has always been an integral part of Savanna’s life since she began singing the “Elmo” theme song at 3 years old. She continues to sing for her church parish and performs in community orchestras surrounding the Dallas and Fort Worth (DFW) areas. Her teaching philosophy centers around fostering a positive environment for student growth and musicianship development.

Savanna’s passion for teaching is apparent and reflected throughout her experiences in high school with the Princeton Girlchoir, where she participated in their Ensemble choir and as an intern for the Semi-Tones choir. She also performed with the Semi-Tones and Princeton Boychoir as an accompanist on flute and castanets. She participated in this non-profit organization throughout high school and hopes to support other non-profit organizations within the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Throughout her time at UNT, she has participated in the Flute Choir, student-led composition projects, Concert and University Bands, a Junior Recital, and produced and performed her Senior Recital. She aspires to continue cultivating music by increasing performance opportunities within both solo and ensemble constructs. She continues to teach her students not just to learn the notes on the page but to take musical ownership and invites them to make musical decisions each time they practice or perform.

Savanna hopes to further her musicianship as she develops as a teacher, mentor, musician, and performer. When she is not practicing, you can find her traveling around the country or spending time with her dog, Roxy.
